Chain & Sprocket numbers are determined by multiplying the pitch by 80 (a 1/2 inch pitch chain & sprocket would be a No. 40 chain & sprocket). A hyphenated suffix indicates multiple strands.bale elevator chain & sprocket is manufactured using a high-strength #55 steel detachable chain & sprocket that has an G27 attachment every 11.54″ (7th link) and is supplied as a 12.5ft pair (2 strands of chain & sprocket) that is matched and tagged for even elevation and load carrying. What separates this chain & sprocket from others is that it is manufactured using a special cold rolled steel that has been heat-treated for maximum strength and durability. The G27 attachments on this chain & sprocket is designed with a moderate surface for pushing bales, they can also be used for welding or fastening slats onto them that will elevate the hay bale.
